Lia Rosenthal
Owner & Management
Lia Rosenthal studied stage dance at the Iwanson School for Contemporary Dance in Munich and also completed a degree in dance therapy/applied dance psychology at the medical faculty of the Westfälische Wilhelms University in Münster, graduating as a certified dance therapist. This was followed by basic training in integrative dance pedagogy at the Deutsches Institut für Tanzpädagogik e. V., commercial training at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Düsseldorf and numerous other regular further training courses in the field of dance. Lia Rosenthal is a certified Greator Business Coach and has been working as a dance teacher since 2006. Among other things, she has many years of experience with socially disadvantaged children. She also worked internationally as a dance teacher, including at the Pineapple Dance Studios in London.
Kauan Soares
Kauan Soares, born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, embarked on his dance journey at the age of 14 when he began his studies at the Phalibis Studio de Dança. Following a successful audition, he became a part of the Miami City Ballet School in 2012, where he completed his training and graduated as a ballet dancer.
Daniel Smith
My name is Daniel Smith. I have loved to dance my whole life.Teaching allows me to pass on what I have learned, share my passion and also grow deeper in my understanding of dance.
I studied dance in Canada and have worked as a dancer all over the world eventually bringing me here to Düsseldorf, where I worked at the Ballett am Rhein until 2022. I am currently working as a choreographer based in Düsseldorf.
Gabriela Santos
Gabriela Santos received her BFA degree as a major in dance with minors in English and world literature at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. Gabriela also taught at the Ballet Academy East in New York, gave numerous workshops and took every opportunity to do internships with prominent dance teachers.
Alfonso Bordi
Alfonso Bordi received his ballet training at the National Dance School in Mexico City and at the Boston School of Ballet. He danced for the Atlanta Ballet and for various contemporary companies and choreographers in Mexico, Canada, the USA and Europe. For 20 years he was a member of the ensemble NEUER TANZ in Düsseldorf.
William Castro
Ballet has been an integral part of my life since a very young age, influenced by my parents, who were both professional ballet dancers in Cuba. Growing up in such an environment, I was naturally drawn to the art form, spending countless hours watching performances and videos that ignited my passion for ballet.

A vivid memory that stands out is a DVD my mother owned, featuring great pas de deux performances, including Baryshnikov’s Don Quixote. His incredible technique and artistry deeply inspired me, fueling my dream of one day mastering those steps and dancing like him.

Iris Kourdoumpa
Born in Greece, she completed her training in classical ballet and ballet pedagogy at the Superior Professional Dance Academy of the former ballerina of the Greek National Opera Anna Petrova. She also took part in summer courses at the Hungarian Dance Academy in Budapest and in master classes in Prague.
Camila Gil
Camila Gil is a professional dancer from Paraguay. She has performed as a soloist and a member of the corps de ballet with Paraguay's national ballet group and furthered her training at prestigious institutions such as the Bolshoi Brazil School and Houston Ballet. As a ballet teacher, Camila sharer her passion for dance, discipline, and creativity, and nurtures the confidence and creativity of her students.
Norma Magalhães
Norma Magalhães, a talented dancer from Brazil, began her journey with a scholarship at the Academy of Dance in Mannheim, where she trained at the State University of Music and Performing Arts under the guidance of Birgit Keil and Eric Blanc. She first stepped onto the stage at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, and in 2013, she kicked off her professional career as a full ensemble member with the Thuringian State Ballet. There, she shined in many solo roles across both classical and modern choreographies.
Peggy Alcala

Peggy's experience in customer advice and project management ideally complements her work at Rosenthal Ballett. Her passion for ballet and her organisational skills help her to provide our customers with comprehensive advice and provide the team with versatile support.
Zhouyi Jiang
Office Management

Zhouyi Jiang has completed her Master's degree as a concert pianist at the Anton Rubinstein Academy in Düsseldorf. As an integral part of our team, she assumes responsibility for general office communication and provides consultation in German, English, and Chinese. Furthermore, Zhouyi significantly contributes to the creation of ballet tutorials through her musical expertise.
Yali Chen
Photography / Video

Yali is responsible for our photo and video recordings and has a professional career in the photo and film area:
Studied at the Folkwang University of the Arts and at the SAE Institute, specializing in digital film production.
​
His photographic work was selected for Vogue Italia in 2021 and he was the chief photographer behind the scenes of the Napoleo film project in 2020 and his photographic work has been commissioned by ARRI (the world's leading manufacturer of film equipment).
​
Over the years he has been involved in the filming of many films and won the German language 99 Fire Film Award Top99 in 2018, the Hagener Filmfenster Award at the Hagener Kurzfilmfestival in Germany in 2019 and the Short.Sweet.Film.Fest Film Festival in USA in 2021 Outstanding International Film Awards.
